1. MRI diagnosis:Colloid cyst (this lesion is placed a bit posterior to its usual location in the foramen of Monro).
2. Identify structures after transcallosal approach: (this is a transcallosal approach to the right lateral ventricle)
a.Foramen of Monro and colloid cyst.
b.Choroid plexus.
c.Septum pellucidum with fornix and anterior&posterior septal veins.
3. Identify structures after lesion removal: (the lesion was removed through a trans-choroidal / trans-tenia-fornicis approach, severing both septal veins and opening the third ventricle)
a.Inter-thalamic conection or massa intermedia.
b.Aqueduct.
c.Posterior commissure.
1. MRI diagnosis: High grade astrocytoma
2. Identify microsurgical approach: Left pterional transylvian.
3. Identify structures after tumoral removal:
a.Optic nerve.
b.Internal carotid artery, giving the anterior choroidal artery.
c.Posterior communicating artery, connecting internal carotid artery and posterior cerebral artery.
d.3rd cranial nerve, running under the posterior cerebral artery.
